The BTCC has today released its provisional ten-event calendar for 2008, the 50th anniversary of the ever popular domestic series. Fans can now once again enjoy the wheel-to-wheel action of the highly-charged domestic series at the UK’s premier motorsport venue, after Silverstone’s absence from the calendar in 2007.

In 2008, Silverstone will showcase what promises to be a nail-biting race weekend towards the end of the BTCC season. As the penultimate race, teams and drivers will be going all out to claim valuable championship points before the end of season finale. BTCC joins the cream of motorsport at Silverstone where fans will be able to enjoy the 2008 FORMULA 1™ Santander British Grand Prix, the Silverstone Classic and rounds of the FIA GT Championship and British Superbikes.

Richard Phillips, Managing Director of Silverstone Circuits Limited, said: “It’s great news for the fans that the British Touring Car Championship is coming back to Silverstone, and we are delighted to be back on the calendar, especially for 2008 when the series will be celebrating its 50th year.
